Advanced Classes

Our advanced classes are designed for dogs who love a challenge—the thinkers, the try-hards, and the ones who light up when training gets interesting. In a supportive group setting, we build on strong foundations to introduce more complex cues, off-leash reliability, impulse control, and problem-solving exercises that keep smart, driven dogs engaged (and happily tired).

CGC Prep is an advanced obedience course designed to help you and your dog feel confident, prepared, and test-ready for the Canine Good Citizen® (CGC) evaluation. Over five weeks, we’ll fine-tune the real-world skills required for the 10 CGC test items—polite greetings, loose-leash walking, calm behavior around distractions, and reliable responses that show your dog’s very best manners.

The CGC program, developed by the American Kennel Club, celebrates dogs who are well-behaved at home and in the community. It’s open to both mixed-breed and purebred dogs and emphasizes responsible ownership alongside everyday good citizenship for dogs.

We’ll practice together for five weeks, building clarity, confidence, and consistency. The CGC test will be offered during the sixth week—so when test day arrives, it feels familiar, manageable, and maybe even a little fun.

  • Loose Leash Walking

  • Politely walk past another dog

Rally Obedience

Where heeling meets flow, movement, and fun.

Age: 6 months and older

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Beyond the Basics with Fetch the Leash

Rally is a fun, low-pressure dog sport that blends teamwork, precision, and movement—perfect for dogs (and humans) who enjoy learning together. In Rally, you and your dog navigate an obedience course made up of numbered stations, each with a sign that tells you which skill or maneuver to perform next. Think obedience… but with flow, encouragement, and a lot more smiling.

Our Rally classes are offered at multiple levels and focus on building strong communication, confident teamwork, and reliable skills in motion. Along the way, dogs sharpen their heeling, practice tight turns and transitions, and learn to stay engaged while moving through complex patterns—skills that translate beautifully to real-life situations like busy sidewalks, shops, and public spaces.

Whether you’re interested in trying a dog sport for the first time or looking to deepen your dog’s advanced training, Rally offers mental enrichment, structure, and a genuinely enjoyable way to train together.

What's Covered:

  • Precise and engaged heeling

  • Fun, flowing maneuvers that strengthen teamwork

  • How to read and perform Rally signs

  • Mental enrichment for dogs with advanced skills

  • Practical handling skills that carry over into everyday life
